Uniform Corner

A detailed description of the uniform policy including what is acceptable for free dress days is available on the "My School" then "Uniform" tab of the home page. 

 

Spirit Wear can be purchased every Monday & Wednesday morning and during student lunch.  All T-shirts are $10.00 and sweatshirts are $20. Please bring correct change if possible. 

Attendance Corner

It is important for students to be in school every day on time.  If your child needs to miss school we will need documentation in a timely manner.  If you have any questions, please ask for Mrs. Salina Stewart in the front office.  Her email address is also available on the homepage under staff. 

Awards

There are several awards that students can earn;

  • Bruin Bucks-Students earn these daily for showing respect, being responsible, random acts of kindness, etc. Students can use the bucks to buy items in student store.
  • Student of the Month- Each month 1 student from each class will be celebrated for academic success and/or for being a Bancroft Bruin 
    • B- Big-hearted
    • R- Respectful
    • U- Uplifting
    • I- Inspiring
    • N- Nurturing
  • Scholar awards- High academic achievement 
  • Bancroft's Best-Quarterly award for displaying the Bancroft Bruin spirit

Student of the Month- This event will be held the first Friday of each month. Each teacher selects 1 student. Parents/guardians will be invited to come for an informal celebration where students will receive a free Bancroft Scholar shirt along with a nice certificate and other goodies.  There will be coffee for adults and treats for students and adults.

Rules and Expectations

Bancroft Mission- Prepared to succeed in an ever-changing world.  

 

Vision- Success is achieved with effective communication, critical thinking, and collaboration. 

 

Goals- We have several goals

  • Improve our overall SBAC scores in Math and English Language Arts
  • Provide a rigorous education
  • Support the success of each individual student by supporting their socio-emotional needs in addition to their academic needs
  • Build a partnership with our families and the Bancroft community

Homework House- Provides free homework assistance by a credentialed teacher for all students every morning (except Thursdays) from 7:45-8:45 a.m. in the library and every day after school (except Fridays) from 3:45-4:45 p.m. in the library. 

 

Points- All students get 10 points each quarter.  Students can lose points for a detention or for a suspension.  Students may not earn points back. Each quarter students start with 10 points. 

 

Scheduled fun events- There will be several fun events such as dances, a winter fair, etc. that will be open to all students that have points. You can check the calendar each month for scheduled fun events. 

 

Bancroft Network News- This is a student-run "news" broadcast.  1-2 times per week all students tune in during advisory time to hear about things happening around campus.  Students will hear about upcoming club activities, opportunities to try out for sports, etc. We are working on getting the link to our Bancroft Network News (BNN) on the homepage for parents to view at their leisure. 

 

Teacher Detentions- Teachers can hold students for up to 20 minutes after school.  

 

Administrative Detentions- There are 45 minutes after school in the cafeteria Daily.  Parents will be notified in advance.  Students can be issued a 45-minute detention for breaking school rules. 

 

SST Process- Parent or Teachers can request a Student Success Team (SST) meeting.  This is for students that are showing that they have an academic or socio-emotional needs. Please see an administrator if you have questions. We will hold SST meetings monthly.
